They are technically water resistant. The front part of the sticker has a water proof coating to protect the printed graphic from ink runs. The graphic is also smudge resistant. The backs could lose adhesion if immersed in water over a long period of time which is why it cannot be called water proof. So it is not recommended to use this product for underwater applications where you would keep the sticker under water for more than a day.
Although the stickers are water resistant, they are not UV resistant. So they will stick well to your car and last through the weather, but after being exposed to sunlight for a long time, the ink will fade. So you can only use outdoors for a short amount of time, like 1 to 2 months.
For cost saving reasons we do not cut a slit on the back. You have to peel the sticker from the edges.
