Yes. The magnet will stick to parts of the car that are steel. It will not stick to plastic or aluminum parts. Our magnets are 0.03 inches thick and very durable for outdoor applications.
The magnets are 0.03 inches thick. This is a standard outdoor magnet thickness.
What we have noticed is that magnets designed with a white border last longer than magnets designed with color all the way to the edge. So we recommend considering designing your magnet with a 1/8" border or more to get 2+ years of outdoor life. Magnets used outdoors with color printed all the way to the edge seem to last only several months before they start to peel from the edges. Data from the manufacturer says these magnets are rated to withstand temperatures ranging from -15° F (126° C) to 160° F (71° C). Shrinkage is less than 1.5% at 158° F (70° C) in 7 days. What this means is if the magnet is kept outdoors in direct sunlight that heats the magnet to about 160° or hotter for a certain period of time it could shrink or peel. Color on the edge of the magnet absorbs sunlight causing the edges of the magnet to get heated which risks shrinkage or peeling from the edges. So definitely consider having your magnets designed with a 1/8" border or more for long outdoor life. For use indoors, temperature will not be an issue and the magnets will last several years indoors with no issue.
